Dear Cash Flow Professional,
Would you believe that prior to
entering the cash flow industry,
I was a handy man?
It's true. I was looking to change my life and my career. In 1994,
I earned my Certified Factoring Specialist (CFS) designation.
I found there was still a lot of learning
to do! I set up my factoring business the way I
was trained. I juggled my full-time handy man business with my budding
cash flow business. I could have used the support
we're offering you.
Some days I would start by wearing my "grubbies,"
work as a handy man for a few hours, then change into business clothes.
At first, I set aside one day a week to work my cash
flow business. Of course not everybody was available that day. I
went to appointments, then got back into my "grubbies" to finish
the day. I remember the time I went through that twice in one day
because I had a lunch appointment, then a networking event that
evening!
After two years, I was making enough in
the factoring business to quit the handy man work altogether.
I slowly built my cash flow business, spending more time on it,
while cutting back on the time I worked my handy man business.
Along the way, I made every mistake possible,
(and some
that today seem to be impossible!) I hit every pothole
in the road, and more than once thought about quitting my cash flow
business. If you are in that same boat, take heart. If you are willing
to work hard, and focus your time and your energy, you will succeed!
I became a Million Dollar
Club member in 1999
That same year, I was made a Master Broker in factoring, contract
and purchase order financing. (If I had had Kendall’s Marketing
Makeover Kit I am sure I would have reached my goals sooner.)
As part of the requirements to become an instructor for the American
Cash Flow Association’s Diversified Cash Flow Program, I went through
the Diversified Cash Flow Specialist training, and earned my DCFS
designation.
I am a contributing writer for the American
Cash Flow Journal, and a regular presenter at the annual Cash Flow
Convention, as well as creator of the
